To have unique and lovely wedding decorations and still avoid spending a lot of money, the best approach is to
think outside the box and be creative.
In addition, really good creative wedding consultants avoid ideas that have already been done at other weddings. After all, if a particular decoration has been used already, then it wouldn’t be unique anymore.
Thus, the suggestions below should not be taken as is. These wedding decorating ideas are supposed to induce those creative juices to flow.
Search for the atypical because your wedding reception is where your guests will spend the most time.
For example, balloons are nice, colorful, and typical. Balloons can also make your wedding look like a children’s birthday party. There should be ribbons, yes. But too many ribbons will remind your guests of their prom a decade ago.
Flowers are also nice. Nobody can go wrong with flowers and flowers are always lovely.
Flowers are expensive and when you have too many roses, you run the risk of looking like you’re hosting a debutante’s party. For unique wedding decorations, the bride and groom should look into items that are not typically associated with weddings, such as
baskets, teapots and fruits.
#1 Wedding Table Decoration Idea
A great wedding table decoration idea is to find some small baskets and decorate with
pretty ribbon. Surround the baskets with flowers, greenery or
pebbles. Print out index size cards on your printer that say “Advice For The Newlyweds” and
lay them on the table with pens and/or pencils.
Encourage guests to write something on the cards and place them in the baskets. This can be a great ice-breaker for people who don’t know each other. Be prepared, too, for the jokesters in the crowd who may offer up some ridiculous and sometimes bawdy advice.
Anybody who had experienced shopping for wedding decorations knows that the price tags are inflated. Therefore, it is better for the bride and groom to stay away from “wedding sections” when they are ready to buy decorations.
In fact, you should head towards the bargain stores or sections. You should also
check out stores that are having clearance sales.
For example if you are having balloons at wedding reception hall
here is an inexpensive decoration idea. Not only are balloons festive and fun, they can help keep bored children entertained. Most dollar stores have helium balloons they will fill
they will usually fill them with your purchase.
However, you can also pickup a portable helium tank at Wal-Mart, Target or your local hardware store and do it yourself. They usually
cost about $20.00 and the tank will blow up about 50 balloons.
Reception hall decorating can be a huge challenge. If you’re having your
wedding reception in a hall like the Legion or the moose, be prepared to deal with the décor that is already there.
To make a rather dull, drab and cheerless hall a wedding wonderland just add lights; Christmas lights. You can create a
marvelous imaginary lighted wonderland with inexpensive white Christmas lights.
A 100 strands of lights strung everywhere – from the ceiling and woven throughout the
decor will camouflage all the dismal surroundings when the
lights go out.
Personalized Wedding Decorations - Add Uniqueness
No two individuals are exactly the same. If this were true, by simply incorporating the personalities of the bride and groom into the wedding décor, the results would be undeniably unique.
For example, if both the bride and groom worked in academia, the wedding decorations should include books. Not textbooks per say, yet you could use
stylish bookmarkers, books about wedding decorations, or something romantic with vivid colors on their covers. And if the bride and groom are health conscious, pyramids of fruits and vegetables can be included in the wedding decorations.
You may also like strategically placed aromatic herbs.
Nature Wedding Theme - Outdoor Wedding Reception
Finally, the bride and groom, as well as the wedding guests should be inspired by nature. This means that the wedding decorations reflect a part of the powerful beauty of nature.
An outdoor wedding reception should use lots of live flowers and greenery to reflect the beauty
natural beauty surrounding you. If it may be windy, avoid using
real lighted candles and secure balloons well so they don’t take
up to the sky.
The outdoor wedding reception decorations can be made of natural objects such as leaves, stones, pinecones, and twigs. If complemented with scented candles, these natural objects provide an ethereal sense of beauty. Another way to use nature is to have several bowls of fish at the centerpiece. These bowls will hold attention as well as launch conversations
around a table.
